Volunteer Force Long Service Medal awarded to 2066 Colour Sgt. Robert Barnett, 2nd. Volunteer Battalion, Durham Light Infantry. Robert Barnett was a shoemaker, born in Yorkshire around 1861, later a resident of Bishop Auckland in County Durham where he served with the DLI Volunteers. The medal has a few marks and dents to the rim.
British War Medal and Victory medal awarded to 119429 Pte. Albert Edward Barnett, Royal Army Medical Corps (son of Robert Barnett). Albert was born in Bishop Auckland on the 26th. May 1878, a lithographer by profession. He enlisted in the R.A.M.C. on the 11th. December 1915 and was discharged due to sickness on the 12th. December 1919 aged 42. He is also entitled to the Silver War Badge. The medals are in very good condition on original ribbons.
1939-45 Star, Africa Star with 1942-43 Bar, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal and British War Medal awarded to 1143257 Cpl. Eric L. Barnett, Royal Air Force (son of Albert Edward Barnett). Eric was born in Bishop Auckland on the 19th. July 1921. In the late 1930's he was serving as apprentice draughtsman at the fire clay works. He enlisted in the RAF during the Second World War and served in North Africa and Europe. His medals are in mint condition with original unworn ribbons, box of issue addressed to Cockton Hill Road, Bishop Auckland, also with Air Ministry tear off entitlement slip, certificate and medal packets. Nice family set spanning three generations from the Victorian era through two World Wars.
