1914-18 BWM & RFR Long Service Medal (Submarine Service, R.N.) 85.00

British War Medal and Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service Medal awarded to K17747 Sto.1. William George Kingstone, Royal Navy. Born in 1894, Marlborough, Wiltshire, former farm labourer, Kingstone joined the Royal Navy in 1913. He first saw service in the Dardanelles, Mediterranean and Adriatic whilst aboard battleship Prince of Wales. In December 1917 he joined the Torpedo Boat TB134 and later transferred to the Submarine Service aboard C28. After the War Kingstone served aboard submarines L14, L69 and L54 before being posted back to the Submarine base Dolphin where he was discharged in 1925 and transferred to the Royal Fleet Reserve. Comes with copy of service papers, WW1 Submarine service medals are quite rare.
